Just found out my biopsy was cancerous

Yes my urine flow has been impaired at least 10 years. I am prone to UTI's and have an enlarged prostate so over time I kinda just accept it and it is not a big deal. I wake up maybe once a night rarely twice to go to the bathroom.
I saw the radiation doctors and they were excellent as was the office staff and all involved. I think I was supposed to get handouts that show in detail the types of treatments but since I was a late appointment, all of the office folk had left so I left as well. I'll call and see if they will email the info but I got the general idea.
I will still talk to the cryo doctor because even though both the radiation and surgical doctors said they doubt they will do cryotherapy on me, I read online that this hospital indeed does cryo-focal as a first treatment option.
Even so, I think radiation will be best if and when it comes to that.This however opens a serious issue, from what I did read while waiting to be seen, I may have to be 'fastened' down and may even have to have a CT or MRI scan for the treatment.This is a problem! I have severe claustrophobia. My pain doctor wanted a CT scan with contrast and I could not do it so he gave me two 5mg valium and the next time I was okay.
I can always talk my doctor into one or two valiums but am afraid for an MRI I may not be able to do it unless maybe under sedation (like IV valium-that puts me "on the moon")

I may be worrying to soon but it is a concern.

The doctor ruled out brachy (seeds) he gave me a reason but I forgot what it was. I am 90% sure I'll do the radiation if I have any treatment. As of now, I see my urologist/surgeon in January and will do a repeat biopsy and maybe an MRI The doctor said the MRI would be helpful in showing the extent of the tumor and where it is located more clearly. Insurance may be an issue.

I suppose if it has not grown, I will stay with AS

Drat! Seems the testosterone issue was taken from my hands. I requested a refill and my doctor said I should ask the urologist (the urologist already said he is against the injections TRT for short)
I told him I understand his decision but I am the one who has to deal with the effects of hypogonadism. For me the symptoms can be tough to live with such as loss of energy and focus. timid feelings (afraid of little things like stepping on manhole covers because they may be "energized") I know that sounds odd but it is just an example of the little fears that come over me without testosterone and of course depression which for me is mostly sad feelings and not getting joy out of things I used to enjoy.

Anyway, he wrote back to me saying if the symptoms get bad he will refer me to an endocrinologist. Not sure they will allow testosterone replacement.

In any case I do'nt like the doctors removing choice even if it may be a bad one.

Otherwise no symptoms other then the usual going to the bathroom often and straining at times to go.

I am sure I can find a doctor who will prescribe and maybe Dr Morgenthaler's office can lead me to a good prescriber here in NY I however cannot afford to pay hundreds of dollars. I already found an online doctor but the cost is $200 which if he prescribes multiple refills would be worth it but not if I am on the hook to have to pay upon each prescription.

For the time being I'll do my research in finding a network doctor and meanwhile I'll monitor how I am doing off the testosterone.

I mean heck yeah there may be a risk but there is also a quality of life benefit involved. My argument is it ought to be my choice to take that risk.


Thanks-Hot as heck today will welcome Fall's arrival even though it means Winter and the long nights are not that far off (I'll take heat over snow/sleet/cold anyday)
