Today, I had my 6 year follow up after my surgery in 2012.
PSA = .05
My doc says he’s still pleased with the results, and that I shouldn’t worry about the rise. I’ve sort of grown used to this..every year there has been a slow but steady rise from zero, and the doc says not to worry about it.. I guess the PSA is still technically in the undetectable range, so I’m happy, but still a bit apprehensive.
For my next visit (March) my doc ordered a PSAD test, rather than the standard PSA. I’m not sure why the different test was ordered, but one possibility is that the doctor is more concerned than he wants to let on.
Anyone have experience with a PSAD test as a follow up after your prostatectomy?
I assume a lower number is better..
Thanks for any insight.
