When a low volume Gleason 6 prostate cancer is successfully treated with brachytherapy, it is said that normal prostate cells recover and start producing PSA. My question is: can after treatment PSA be higher than a relatively low pre-treatment value ?

Sorry, I can't answer your question with any degree of confidence. But looking at your PSA test history, did you have your prostate removed sometime after 10/2016?

Only if you have prostatitis.

I had a severe case of prostititis about 1 year after my BT and psa never moved one bit. I think it would be very rare to have psa reach pretreatment levels without a reoccurrance.

Sr. Sailor,

My recurrence was in an extra-capsular mass. I had ADT from October 2016 to April 2017 and cyberknife in January 2017 to treat the extra-capsular mass (not the prostate, which showed no sign of recurrence).

My PSA started rising again in April 2018. I will have another PSA test end of August.

So sorry to read about that outcome. The early results (6/11 to 12/13 and possibly beyond that) looked so promising.
Has the extracapsular mass been biopsied to see how aggressive it might be?

I guess (!) that you hope that the current rise in PSA after the CK treatment is due to a 'bounce'? Let's hope that your next test result will show a lower PSA.
