Time will tell have a month before I start, no incontinence now and no blood and BM's good I just have heard good and bad. They told me to only drink 10oz before just enough to lift the bladder off the floor. I have a diet to follow so no gas or stool or she will send me home. I will follow to a T I just want to get it over with.
Some guys seem to get thru it without any issues... doesn't mean that they or their doctors were any better or worse as far as better patients or doctors. Everyon'e cancer is different, and everyone's bodies are different.
I had a strict diet starting the week before starting RT and still had problems which started the second week. I had to cut out even more stuff. Bland chicken and rice seemed to work well. I had to limit salads, fruits and veggies, nuts, mushrooms and such. Onions and spicy sauce were already off the table.
I was supposed to drink 32oz water 90 minutes before treatment, but I adjusted it to start an hour earlier and finish up one hour before Tx. That worked fine, except when I had diarrhea just before going into Tx, which happened a few times. Fortunately I never had to wait more then 20 minutes to get in and never had any accidents. The RT facility was right around the corner from my home.
BTW my RO retired shortly after my treatment ended. He must have felt "My work here is done".
