Here’s an interesting read on fighting side effects of ADT, particularly, with exercise.

Nothing earth shattering, not a breakthrough study, just a good read for anyone on ADT.

I did nine months on Lupron. I had a plan. I never quit going to the gym but I still gained 30 pounds. I've read other guy's plans for life chemically castrated and they sounded good and it's good to be optimistic when undergoing such a life-altering treatment.
in retrospect i'm reminded of a Mike Tyson Quote: "everyone has a plan until they get hit."

Thanks for that, Ed. It's my new favorite quote. Saw it just as I got work Monday morning here in Saipan, and it's the perfect launch to the work week.

The best ways to combat ADT I found were exercise, sunshine, an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, lots of hydration and staying active. The things that worsened the side effects included being sedentary, alcohol, fatty foods, and thinking about
the side effects. When they would get bad I would get a bottle of water and go walk the dogs and play catch with them. If at work, I would leave the office and walk around the block. None of this solved the side effects, but did offer immediate relief.

"everyone has a plan until they get hit."
That quote is widely attributed to Mike Tyson, and he may well have said it, but Joe Louis said it first.
Similar thought as “No plan survives first contact with the enemy": A piece of military wisdom deriving from a formulation by the nineteenth-century Prussian military commander Helmuth van Moltke.

Today, 88 days from my last Lupron shot, the worst SE — pain and weakness in my left thigh and knee, the side where the depot went in, is gone. Found it difficult to run but kept playing tennis; looking forward to moving normally on the court again.
Agree with JNF except for alcohol, which my RO said it would be OK to drink unless the SEs got worse, but I limited consumption to whisky, wine, and beer.
