In a previous post, I asked for side effects from Casodex. From the responses I had it appears that one should not expect side effects soon after starting Casodex. I have had Casodex for eight days only. Already I am having several hot flushes a day, not as intense as the flushes I had with Firmagon and Lupron in 2016 and 2017. Is there any one with similar side effects so early?

On Nov 30, I will get the first Lupron shot for metastatic prostate cancer in lymph nodes.

I looked through the other thread you mentioned but I not see if your treatment is being directed by an MO at this point. If not, it might be good to get PCa experienced MO on board who can discus early use of chemo or Zytiga, which may give better long term control of the cancer.

This from BCCancer.bc.ca’s drug info sheet on bicalutamide (Casodex):

Hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) can sometimes occur when you first start taking bicalutamide. This usually improves as your body adjusts to bicalutamide. Hot flashes are more common when bicalutamide is taken with another drug that lowers testosterone levels.

Did your Testosterone level recover from Lupron?

Hot flashes probably shouldn't start until your T level is at castrate levels.

In 2016, when I had the first Firmagon shot hot flushes started more or less immediately. I am sure my testosterone was much higher than castrate level at that point.
