Time might be another dimension as in mathematics and physics. But did you ever try to comprehend that without time; speed and acceleration would be meaningless?
I oft wondered if the other dimensions would crumble into dust if time didn't exist.
I mean, it takes time to perceive the first three..... So, if time doesn't exist, will they cease to exist also.

Im trying to piece together SP's latest post with one of Halberts in this thread...I looked a bit...but did not feel it warranted an intense search...not that the post was unworthy on its own...its just a bit late to the party...if it is true i.e. your conjecture....your answer is self evident ..in that his name is still in your post...one can not erase one from history as the ancient Egyptians tried...especially 142 it would seem to counterpoint his own beliefs idk

I look at the numbers in the list as an age rather than a value...it helps my sanity and creates a conundrum for this thread which is suitable...enuff awreddy...the rain has stopped I caught a bug and am recovering...you can't make this stuff up...sighing off for awhile...at least verbally...Im spent...

I'm starting to get the impression that for many of us, PCa is the least of our problems ;-)

Carlo Rovelli has written a good book about time titled "The Order of Time". If I understand what he's saying, Time is local to the observer, and it is ultimately how we measure entropy. Thermodynamically, entropy requires time to calculate, so time is, literally how we look back and see where the entropic delay is coming from. We 'see' the past all around us by noting the changes.

81GyGuy, thank you for your selfless service to this Forum. And thanks to your son as well. Obviously by the responses so far, I sure am glad I asked. Anyone can talk about PSA any day and anyone can talk politics trashing one side or the other. Anyone can also wish TA was here or go follow him elsewhere. But we can talk about nothing. And nothing is important. I mean nothing is really important. If it wasn't would we still be doing this? Boom. Proof is in the following comments.

Speaking of time, I explained to my GF that the images she sees in the night sky are snapshots of how the stars appeared millions, or billions, of years ago - and in fact - many of the stars she sees no longer even exist. She’s not buying it and insists that what you see is what you get.

In a sense I agree with her. I have the feeling it’s all just an artificial construct anyway.

I think I understand what you are saying. My thought for the list suggestion was the intent MAY have been to mock or discredit the tread. Or to suggest we could be spending our time on the more serious matters of the forum. Or even to suggest we are using the thread to pad our post count - as if anyone really cares about that.

I view the thread as a release valve to dump stress. To talk about whatever is on our minds. An opportunity to get see another side of members, and a way to get to know them better.

The tread will either crap out or keep going. If it continues to live, our moderators will eventually have to decide what to do with it.
