Hello Iceman and welcome. Concerning, yes...serious, we don't know. That PSA increase could be due to a number of things other than prostate cancer, e.g. prostatitis (an infection) or an enlarged prostate. My recommendation at this time would be to see a urologist who is better trained to deal with prostate issues than most PCP's. He/she will likely give you another PSA test, perform at DRE (digital rectal exam) and may put you on a course of antibiotics to see if that knocks out an infection. He/she may also order (or you may ask about
this) another test, the PHI test that may give a better indication of what is going on. See this link
