New Uro

Saw my new urologist for the first time yesterday. I am one year post-HDR-BT. My RO was great but is hands off for any other issues. I have some urinary burning. Uro ordered a genomic test of the urine, says there are some hidden bacteria that this may show. We also discussed options for treatment if reoccurrence happens. He specializes in cryotherapy and offered that is a good option Had not seen that discussed anywhere. I really like the guy.

Cryo was one of the treatments I evaluated in 2009. Problem for me was that it was not considered useful at the time for as large a distribution over the prostate as I had. The docs that offered it would not consider my case.

I think we had one guy in my large support group who had done it.

But no, it has not been frequently mentioned as primary treatment by members here.

I had urinary burning and enhanced frequency about a year after the end of treatment. then I started passing small amounts of dried blood. my uro said it was radiation cystitis and didn't even bother examining me. he said it would pass and it did. I had one more occurrence a year or so later but much more mild, and that was it.
