Apricot seeds, hemp oil, and hydrogen peroxide after traditional treatments?

There is no evidence to suggest that these alternative treatments are effective and in some cases are actually harmful.

The one big ingredient in apricot seeds is cyanide. Many would be self treaters have tried this and ended up poisoning themselves.

There's more quackery than science in these, "alternatives." Be, very careful of anything like this.

I'll also add that if you have any Federal licenses for work, business, or firearms, you must be absolutely sure (require a chemical analysis statement from the company) that you are not consuming ANY THC, as it remains illegal at the Federal level.

I've seen (personally) the case of an airline employee who was taking CBD oil. She got the usual walk off random drug test. There was an almost zero level of THC detected. She is now searching for other employment opportunities.

We allow discussion here, but each individual must consider the impact.

I believe alternative treatments are possible since people want to believe it's that easy. Surgery or apricot seeds? Sure, bring on the apricot seeds!

Switching cancers, only a small number of pancreatic cancer patients are eligible for a surgery known as the Whipple procedure, which is relatively successful considering the low survival rate for pancreatic cancer. As I understand it, Steve Jobs's pancreatic cancer diagnosis did qualify him for a Whipple. Instead, he chose to focus on his diet. Perhaps he would have succumbed anyway--pancreatic cancer only has a 9% 5-year survival rate. But if my understanding is correct, he didn't avail himself of a mainline treatment that could have saved his life.

In my 12-1/2 years of battling the beasty I have heard of a bunch of cures that people have died from. My favorite cure was a vegan diet and coffee enama’s. Lord!
A better diet can make you feel better. Exercise can help with side effects. Theee are many unproven supplements out there. Do they help? I don’t know. The more important question is “Do they Hurt?” I believe there is a cure out there somewhere but I am skeptical that it is an apricot seed. If I am not mistaken, there was a “cure all” back in the70’s called Layatril. I am not sure of the spelling. I believe it was made from apricot pits. Lots of people died from it before it was revealed.

Laetrile (aka amygdalin and B17) is the purified extract of the purported active ingredient in apricot kernels. It's been around as an "alternative" treatment for cancer since the 1970s. I had a friend who went to Mexico to receive laetrile treatment for testicular cancer sometime around 1975. He found the treatments fairly tolerable but succumbed to his disease quickly after he returned from treatment. He was a bit older than I was and he died at the age of 26. There have only been a few studies of laetrile for cancer and my friend's experience seems fairly typical of the participants' in the studys. The studies suggest that laetrile has little or no effect on the cancer but is less poisonous that you might think.

My suggestion would be to lay off the apricot kernels and the hydrogen peroxide and to continue to talk to your doctors about the CBD oil.

Additionally please provide the clinical trials for alternative/complimentary treatments you reference. I think we are always open for responsible discussion.

By all means discuss it openly, and as JNF said, provide the clinical trial data that proved the respective merits of the treatments.

I've never broken a real rule. I said God once and got slammed but that doesn't break an actual rule, go check. I admit I've stretched rule number 3 to its absolute limits, but I never insulted him or called him any names. However it doesn't seem to be a rule violation for him or others to break this rule when its directed towards me?
If there was a rule against expressing extreme frustration, sometimes in a childish way – then I’m 100% guilty. But there is no rule for that, maybe you mods should create a new “Bubba rule”.

I've told my story a few times, which doesn't easily fit into a signature. I'm not currently diagnosed with PC, I’m more of a diagnosis waiting to happen. My PSA went from 4 to 17 over about 6 years, sometimes 3 points in 3 months. It never bounced around, only up. So far 1 negative biopsy. I don’t seem to have prostatitis, we tried everything, and am only moderately enlarged.
I can absolutely, positively control my PSA with supplements and a modified Cashless diet program, which for me is mostly juicing copious amounts of the right vegetables with a slow type juicer. Also some things like fresh ground flax, hemp and a few other seeds, and fresh ground ginger and turmeric in the food processor, heated up and made into a paste like tea. This and a few other things control my PSA, mostly supplements, it’s NOT my opinion, there is an actual test that proves this, maybe you have heard of it. I think this can help others, that’s my ONLY reason for being here, it’s not my favorite place. But its a good site, just missing the natural side which can help too. Major hospitals and cancer centers do this, I didn't invent the idea.
As I said there is excellent research, with all the regret threads I see here, I'm not waiting 45 years for a level 1 study. I'm attacking this now!! I brought my PSA from 17 down to 6, but the problem with any diet and exercise program is you tend to go off it. As I did recently and my PSA went up slightly, so when I went to my Uro 2 weeks ago he wanted to do another biopsy. I said let’s do another PSA and 4k score test, he agreed. So I'm on "full program" now, and I’m positive I can get my PSA down. I have until May to do so. If the 4k score doesn’t show favorable results like it did previously, then I'm in trouble, likely cancer, which means I'm wrong and you can all have a party to celebrate. Since many seem to be against anything that isn’t a drug, which carry some nasty side effects. I don’t get why. The research is out there. I didn’t pick a single supplement by random, I read the research.

Bubba, we will continue to point out that PSA IS NOT A CANCER TEST! It's great that your PSA went down. However, it does not mean that you have a lessened cancer risk, nor does it mean that you have treated your incipient cancer.

It has been shown (my case being an example) that taking things that treat BPH and give a lowered PSA give a false sense of security. I was taking one of the commonly available prostate supplements for BPH, that contained Saw Palmetto. When I was diagnosed, my PSA was 4.0. The first thing they told me was to throw away the supplement, because my 'true' PSA was probably closer to 8. By that point, it really didn't matter--I had a positive biopsy. Same is true for flomax (finasteride).

Low PSA does not mean "no cancer" anymore than high PSA means "cancer for sure".

I did that, thats exactly what got me into trouble here. BillyBob does it also, we often get slammed for doing so. Cashless is the only one who gets a pass and even he takes some abuse, although he has shown excellent results with his program.

I really prefer not to do this, its an individual thing that can vary. I found what works for me.

Well as I've said before, besides PSA when my LDL went to 182 which is crazy high I was put on a Statin, my muscles locked up and at times I could barely walk. I can get my LDL down to 101 with supplements alone, and no muscle pain. Also, I had some issues with GERD, I was put on a PPI until I did some research. Even doctors have bad things to say about PPI's. I can correct that with supplements and bone broth, no PPI's ever again.

So what good are they? They are lifesavers for me.
