I had dentist that was interested in replacing my old fillings and crowns. I no longer use that dentist. It seemed that every other year he would find one to replace. In my view these are revenue generating techniques. Insurance will cover new ones every 5 years but generally they should last 15 to 20 years. I am not sure how radiation or ADT would effect a crown. When I had filling replaced after age 60 it was generally a mistake. The new filing made the tooth sensitive where before I didn't have a problem. Also I have had a couple of root canals go bad after filing replacements which required one tooth implant. The other I just pulled.
