Post SRT and ADT Report

Finished radiation in November at which time I got my last three month Lupron shot on November 22. So the Lupron ran it’s course February 22

Doctors appointment with RO next week but went for my blood work this morning

Testosterone ultrasensitive ... 7

T result renders the undectectable a bit meaningless but I’ll take it.
Pretty disappointed with T = 7, I was hoping it might be 20 or 30 at least above castrate levels, as the hot flashes seem to be less severe and frequent the last month
Maybe it’s in my head
In any case I guess I’ll just have to be patient and be happy with the undetectable

Great news on the PSA Pratoman! The T level is a little surprising given how long you have been off the Lupron. It will be interesting to see my numbers when I go next month. For now, Florida, bike riding and nice walks in the evening are good for me!

Ken, undetectable is always good and as mentioned I would expect T to return. Especially as you had 6 months ADT. Congratulations.

Finished my SRT on Mar 14th. It was a non-event. Have next appointment with RO on June 17th. Yesterday had my 5th Firmagon shot of 6. Only reaction is first 3 or 4 days with redness and warmth.

My only issues with SRT and ADT is weight gain, fatigue and minor hot flashes.

For most it takes 12-18 months for T to recover. Lupron half life is six months and as long as 10-20% is still in the system it will suppress T.

Any day now, Ken, your T will come roaring back. Gone will be the hot flashes but they may be replaced with acne, poor judgement, unconstrained libido and all the other things that plagued you the last time you went through puberty.

Saw the RO this morning. Non event as expected. Did a DRE (will we ever be done with that crap?)
Felt around, said he didn’t feel any scarring. Told me to see him in 6-8 months. Which surprised me.

Larry, he was looking to see if there was evidence of scarring from the radiation. As I said there wasn’t.
This is the second time I’ve had a DRE. First time was when I saw him prior to radiation. He was looking for nodules.

Lol. My MO, of all people, did DREs on three separate visits. He kept thinking he felt a staple. He later waved off a resident physician who wanted to do a DRE. Said this guy’s had enough.
