Is there anything out there to help stop or lessen the side effects.... I am looking maybe to start in July if my PSA keeps rising

Your MO might prescribe you venlafaxine.

I took it for depression and anxiety for a while . Helped with them. Hot flashes. I was thinking of them at the time.

Side effects of hormone therapy vary a lot among individuals. Therefore, you should wait until they actually occur and then ask again so that we can be more on point.
In the meantime, learn about preventive measures to counteract the more common side effects of hormone therapy, such as vigorous exercise.

I was put on Venlafaxine for the hot flashes when that stopped working was about 6 months. I was then put on Gabapentin which has worked well for the last 18 months and continues to work.

Two primary side effects were difficult during my long time on ADT2. Full disclosure, for almost 2 of the three years I was on Lupron and Casodex, I also took Lexapro. That antidepressant has a litany of side effects too, so it's possible that some of what I experienced was exacerbated by it. Anyway....

Hot flashes were annoying, and quite constant companions. Megace reduced them about 75%, and I took it the whole time. Not a huge deal.

On the other hand, fatigue was a real problem. It was a grinding, relentless, bone-wearying fatigue. Sleep helped, but I could probably fall asleep any time I just quit trying to stay awake. Nothing helped. I didn't try stimulants like Ritalin, though some say those do help. Also, I never tried something significantly different, like low-dose estrogen. I'm not sure why we never talk about that, but it could surely help. Probably ADT is emasculating enough that we can't even think about adding a "female hormone", even though the male body makes it too.

Exercise helps, though I had limited improvement from that it seemed.a

Finally, I had a significant bone density loss. Mine went from normal to osteopenia, borderline osteoporosis, in less than 2 years. I boosted my calcium and D3 intake, and made a concerted effort to exercise more, and with more weight, to load my bones for strengthening. I also took Prolia, though I'm not sure I'd do that again until things got substantially worse. Prolia has some side effects and risks of its own as well.

You are way early asking and you'll find many threads on side effects. There is a thread running now about taking too many pills/scrips. My hot flashes were really more like warm flashes. I tolerated them ok. I did try vitamin E, then magnesium, then soy milk (Uro nurse suggested). None helped. I really didn't want another scrip with more side effects. Then my flashes went from warm to hot and were more frequent. I was ready for something. I spoke with the Oncology Pharmacist and she suggested a supplement, DHA Ultimate. My MO wrote a scrip and I'm on my 3rd month. Hot flashes are less frequent and less intense. Hope you never need to re-read your thread.
