I had an interesting call today from an old coworker. He was diagnosed with G9 prostate cancer. It was interesting because that would be the 3rd guy who got G9 PCa in his early 50s from the same office that we all worked in together for many years. Some other guys there have chronic prostatitis. I know it could all be coincidental but makes you scratch your head. Maybe we were too close to the strawberry fields that were across the street and that the building was built on. Onward... -JR

Back when I was diagnosed another guy in the same office where I worked was diagnosed one month later. Though it wasn’t apparent at the time, I had systemic mets. He had spinal mets at the time of his diagnosis. Both of us only worked at the company for about a year before leaving. (Boss was a major jerk)

If it were three guys with PCa in their 50s, you could certainly understand that coincidence. But three G9 guys? Yeah, that does make you scratch your head.

(PS Going to a farm-to-table charity dinner on a strawberry farm near you next month. Hopefully my now radiated prostate is immune from any evil influences!)

Wow that is crazy! If they are not already supplementing, they should get their blood vitamin D levels checked, just for fun. Or maybe even if they are already supplementing.

What kind of work did Y'all do? What part of the country?

Hey BillyBob.. we were all in an office environment. We are in Oxnard area of California. I get my Vit D checked by my MO on my scheduled visits.

Interesting... We live in Ventura County as well. But closer to Thousand Oaks. No strawberry fields here. I would not be surprised if there is a link to chemical exposure and Pca. My husband has been a professional auto mechanic for nearly 30 years. Also, lots of fireman seem to get Pca.
