Hi there,
My dad is finishing up his radiation soon. He has had one shot of Zoladex a couple of months ago. The radiation is to the prostate bed (da Vinci removal 2010) and to the one spine met. His pre treatment PSA was 1.4. He will have tests again shortly and we will find out how the cancer has responded. I know no one really knows but what should we expect? What psa would be the best outcome? Undetectable? This is still new and scary sorry..

When they biopsied his prostate gland 9 years ago, what was his Gleason score ? It will be a number like 6,7 8 or 9. How old is Dad ? And yes, the best outcome would be an undetectable PSA number..

Yes, an 'undetectable' PSA for as long as he lives will be the best outcome. But even if that isn't the case, the world will not end for him because other treatment modalities are available.
PS: I hate to use the word 'undetectable' because the PSA test result depends on the method and instrument used.
