My RO prefers it. It drops T down to castrate levels on average in 3 days, vs average of 28 days for Lupron. My understanding is that it also has less adverse effects, particularly on cardiovascular risk, than Lupron.
Odd....didn't you switch from Firmagon to Lupron due to your adverse side effects??
Whatever the future holds, I'll be buried with my testicles intact. There is a limit to what this disease, and it's questionable treatments, can have!!!Yes Gary, due to adverse side effects he switched me to Lupron. But it wasn’t due to cardiovascular side effects, it was side effects at the injection site. I had major inflammation skin was very hot to touch and it was uncomfortable. I have to say though, that if I have to face ADT again in the future I would be having a long conversation with him or whatever Dr is treating me, because I think I would rather tough out the side effects of the injection site rather than allow my lipids to get out of control as they have causing God knows what problems
And yup, my testicles as useless as they may be right now, will follow me into my grave. There’s a limit to the level if indignity I’m willing to deal with. But everybody’s different
