Six years with metastatic Prostate Cancer

Today is my six year anniversary of joining the Stage IV Club. Was Castrate Resistant for three years, tried Zytiga, and now on Xtandi and the Prostar Trial. Tomorrow is my 61st birthday. Hard to believe I have lived a 10th of my live with PC.

If you have been following my trial posts, you know that my PSA is rising slowly but surely. My imaging has not changed. Next week I will have my PSA tested again, and if it continues its rise, my team and I will be evaluating spot radiation on the one met that shows up on my scans.

Other than dealing with this, my life is great, my family and friends loving and supporting. I want to thank each of you and wish the best going into the Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons. Enjoy every minute. Be Well

Mike, thanks for your post, it really helps so many guys here.
It seems almost counterintuitive to say congratulations on being Stage IV for 6 years. And yet, it is a milestone, an accomplishment, and a positive note for so many. So congrats, you like all of us here, have plenty to be thankful for this coming Thanksgiving.

Awesome story, hang in there brother. You have shown courage in entering that trial, to help all patients. Here's hoping the Prostar trial helps out, and you will have many more years to enjoy every minute! You know there are new advancements coming down the pike to help you get that PSA lower. Keep the faith!
