And, since Vit. E is being looked at (or was in SELECT) in light of prevention of PCa, why is this debate even happening here--where 99% of us (not counting the women) have already been diagnosed and treated for PCa? The prevention horse left the barn long ago.

My grandmother died of ovarian cancer. In desperation, or a belief in quackery, my grandfather took her to Mexico to get Laetrile.

Notorious conman Ernst T. Krebs "claimed that Laetrile/amygdalin is a vitamin (B17) and, of course, cancer is due to a deficiency in that particular vitamin" (surprise, surprise). "Quacks in Tijuana never had any problem claiming Laetrile could cure advanced cancer." Laetrile is not a vitamin, and can cause cyanide poisoning. Per Wikipedia: "Irving Lerner of the University of Minnesota describing it (Laetrile) as 'the slickest, most sophisticated, and certainly the most remunerative cancer quack promotion in medical history.'"

Needless to say, my grandmother died. I am certain Laetrile worsened her health, at the least, and may have caused it.
