Sometimes reading a good poem is a help in taking the edge off of a difficult situation. Doing so often helps to put things into perspective as well.
"Doing a jigsaw puzzle" in the first stanza is not merely a descript
ion of idly killing time. It symbolizes our thoughts on our present crisis, as we struggle to grasp all the pieces of the puzzle before us, everything we know about
the virus, and then try to assemble them all into a complete picture of a strategy we can use for coping.
"Isolated," as the word itself is, in that line, is a nice touch.
The reference to CNN is also nice, bringing a reference to reality into the images of imagination within the poem.
"Pushes us deeper into the cave" brought to mind the image of the cave from the original Twilight Zone
opening, which was described as "the pit of Man's fears."

I especially like the reference to Damocles' sword, which is certainly an apt image to describe how we are all feeling about
now.
The final stanza stresses hope, with the chance for escaping the stress we are feeling, and is strengthened by reference to the sun, which is known to kill a virus.
Yes, reading a good poem can help us to see a situation in a new way, perhaps in a way that helps us to gain an insight into where we are, an insight that makes dealing with it all a bit easier.
Your poem does that, Andrew. Thank you.
