Jim, history would suggest you should pay them unless the 21st falls within the grace period. Besides, the 21st is a Sunday, so anything you pay then won't process until Monday anyway.
Hey, maybe I can skip my PSA on June 19th? OTOH, a certain very wise (IMO) man once said "about
that day, no man knows the day or the hour". So when a man ( or woman ) gives us the day or the hour, I tend to be skeptical. On the other other hand, that same man also warned the same people about
not knowing the signs of the times, so a more general approach might not be all that outrageous.
However, I have read certain books, copies of the originals which have been discovered hidden in desert caves, discovered in 1947 and some carbon dated to well over 2000 years old and ALL at least 1900 years old(and which them selves are copies of even older texts, the true originals, which is why they were hidden in caves as the Romans approached to burn everything, where they sat undisturbed for 2 millennia). These modern copies that I read have predictions- the exact same as in the ancient "originals"- a few that can even be dated by doing some simple calculations- which have made astoundingly accurate predictions of future events, whether events taking place a few centuries after they were written or right on up until modern times. Nothing vague about
them, always concerning a certain group of people and a certain land and even a few specific times a few centuries or many centuries later.
And a different sort of prediction was made, not of a future date, but rather that a certain day of the year would always be a day of mourning and tears for a certain people. And century after century, millennia after millennia, the most terrible tragedies have happened or begun- for that people- on that very day, right up until modern times. Tragedies often caused by other people who would have had no clue about
the importance of that one day per year. Which is now easy to verify by use of modern tech, i.e. calendar converters, which convert known days in history on our calendar to any other known calendar in history, including the specific calendar these people use, in which this day is found. You can go back as much as 2600 years, find the date(on our calendar, in our history books) for a known major tragedy or catastrophe related to this one group of folks, plug it into the calendar converter, and there it is, that certain day, over and over right up to modern times.
I find this all makes for some pretty fascinating reading. There is good news even in that prediction though, good news predicted hundreds of years after the original prediction of mourning: that one day that day of mourning and fasting would be changed into a day of joy and feasting. That promise does not involve a date however, and does not appear to have yet been fulfilled.
However, one thing is consistent in these many books(all related) written over about
1600 years: there is no date specified for the big one, for the end of things as we know it. Only that it is coming, and that no man knows the day or hour. So how interesting that, throughout history, various men continue to come up with specific dates, and then repeatedly are proven to be frauds. So far. ;)
