Hello, Isaac ~~~
I value the chance to share some ideas with you, in regard to your post.
I checked out your company's website, and appreciate that your company --- featuring eco-friendly grooming products for fellows --- is also dedicating itself to prostate cancer awareness and charities --- as revealed in your company's background "mission statement" ...
With that being said, I will share a few ideas that might be helpful, or lead you to other ideas, as we open the conversation.
Your post is ironically timed ... September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in the United States.
Just as pink is the symbolic color for breast cancer awareness, light blue is the color for prostate cancer awareness.
So, get out your light blue t-shirts or Oxford shirts or light blue prostate cancer wristbands and promote awareness!
Some businesses promote "Blue Shirt Fridays" at the workplace, and some sporting events have featured "the wearing of the blue" ---- to create more public awareness of prostate cancer.
To begin the conversation, in reference to your post ---- many of our members here travel to cancer treatment centers located across the country.
We have fellows here who pursue diagnostic scans, treatments, consultations, and clinical trials at Johns Hopkins, M.D. Anderson, Siteman, Dana Farber, Emory, Mayo Clinic, and Weill Cornell ... to name just a few.
I am sure any prostate cancer treatment center would welcome your partnership.
Secondly, the Prostate Cancer Foundation has an informative website that details their work in education and advocacy. They were founded nearly 30 years ago, so they are an established foundation.
Most exciting for many of us here --- 82% of donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation are directly channeled towards cutting-edge prostate cancer research.
I especially appreciate their focus on research for advanced, metastatic, and late-stage prostate cancer patients ---- where more breakthroughs & "knockout punches" are needed, in the fight against prostate cancer.
This area is the most challenging aspect of prostate cancer research, and we have all lost "brothers in the battle" to advanced prostate cancer.
Check out the website for the Prostate Cancer Foundation to learn more about their advocacy and research funding. New research IS the way forward for our brothers. Their website can be found here: www.pfc.org.
In addition to these shared ideas ---I heartily recommend that you check out the website for "ZERO - The End Of Prostate Cancer" ---- commonly called "ZERO" ---- their website address being found here: zerocancer.org.
At ZERO --- they focus on direct assistance to prostate cancer patients experiencing financial difficulties --- as well as an emphasis on education, screening, testing, patient support, outreach, research, and advocacy.
Each September, which I mentioned earlier as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month --- ZERO hosts 5-K distance events across the country to promote awareness and raise funds.
I have participated in several of these events, with thousands of others --- in locations across the country. These events build camaraderie and solidarity.
Business partners help fund these charity 5-K events and great sums of money are raised each September.
These businesses often hand out product samples to 5-K participants, which might help you "grow" your new business. Everyone is in this together!
A side note --- Nashville singer, Jimmy Charles, has become active in these ZERO 5-K events --- I have met him personally --- he often sings his signature song entitled "Superman" --- which has become the unofficial anthem for prostate cancer fellows.
It's a poignant, powerful, and inspiring song. It's on YouTube ... and it tells a powerful story.
Jimmy Charles' song has also been performed across the country, and helped raise awareness --- and valuable sums --- for more prostate cancer research.
I want to wish you the best in your future endeavors, Isaac.
Hopefully, these ideas will spark new thoughts and possibilities --- as your new business seeks ways to become involved in prostate cancer awareness, research, and advocacy.
Thank you for reaching out to us here --- seeking input, ideas, and thoughts!
