First, please keep hard copies of the scans. Mine were clean, too, but now that it is eight years later for me, I am getting aches and pains in *exactly* the places they noted arthritis in me (big toes, knees, lower back, all minimal or medium). Good to know for the future.
You can use the search function at top right of this web page, using phrase like:
prostate + hernia
to find get a list of prior postings of guys that had that and what they did. You can sort the list of posts by date or relevance, whichever.
There also seem to be some web articles like this one:

Your husband's case seems really interesting/odd, and I hope the best and also am just curious as to what is going on there.
