One spring day down in Louisiana, a sheriff's deputy pulled over a young man speeding south in his pick-em-up truck. As the deputy walked past the bed of the truck he noticed several machetes in the truck. As he spoke to the driver, he said, "
"Son, I've got you dead to rights for going 70 in a 55, so that's that. I do want you to explain the machetes, and if the answer isn't really good, I'm going to find something to run you in for."
"Sheriff, the truth is, that I'm a juggler, that's a fact. I'm heading down to N'alins for Mardi Gras, and I figger to make some money juggling on the street down in the Quarter"
The Deputy considers this for a minute, then says, "OK, son, I guess I'll let it pass...if you can prove it. Get out of the truck and go juggle for me by the side of the road-sheaths off!"
So, the young man proceeds to juggle those machetes, as the deputy stands there, hands on hips.
While this is going on, Boudreau and Thibadeau come driving by. Boudreau is driving, and he slows down to take in the scene...the county car with flashers on, deputy standing there hands on hips, and the youth juggling machetes. After they go a good bit down the road at a perfectly legal speed, Boudreau puts the hammer down and skedaddles away as fast and as far as he can. As he's speeding away, he says, "Thibadeau, I hope like h*** I never get pulled for for DUI in THIS Parish--that field sobriety test looks like a real b***tch!"
