After Brachytherapy January 2018 my PSA in May 2018 was 0.8. November 2020 it was 1.37. I had met with both the urologist and oncologist ever six months, as the PSA number increased, and neither expressed a concern. I now have a new urologist who has scheduled a CT scan for March this year (2021). He, at our last meeting, suggested no additional radiation treatment was possible and the next step would be some form of hormone (do not remember exactly what was said).
I read the 2007 posting regarding recurrence and was wondering what is new since then. I see more than one mention of a cancer team. I plan to ask my primary care physician about the possibility.
Pre-surgery PSA 5.0 2017
Post-surgery PSA 0.8 May 2018
Last PSA 1.37 November 2020
Gleason Score 3+4 November 2017
I will be 83 may 2021. Not overweight, low blood pressure, active, living at 6,500 elevation with clean air and water. And, as an aside, my mother lived to 103, her parents to their late 90's. My father died from prostate cancer complications.
Considering the side effects I have seen so far, not keen on Hormone therapy if there are other options.
