TURP-Back To Radiation Final Answer?!

I have been swaying back and forth between surgery. having TURP and going back for radiation.
The issue has been that radiation caused me to have urinary retention which led to a horrible condition called "Paraphimosis" after I was catherized. The surgeon did not offer a chance large enough to assure me that TURP would open me up enough to have the radiation so I thought surgery was the best route.
Flash back to before I started treatment, my urologist upstate told me to have TURP because radiation could close me up. When I spoke to the RO I had so many questions that my enlarged prostate did not come up so I guess I just trusted he would know best since he had all of my records-Bottom line, my family urologist warned me.
With that in mind, we just met via Tele-med and he did the ole' "I told you so" however he said after only 6 sessions, he believes TURP will work very well top allow me to go back to radiation.
I trust him and like him and would have had the treatment under his care in upstate Poughkeepsie but my wife lives in Manhattan (well me too most of the week) and I wanted to be near her 5 days a week. To add New York Columbia Presypeterian hospital has a good reputation.
I have lost weight and am working out and was prepared to have the RP but my first choice was and is radiation.
Speaking to the person I trust most thus far has in effect changed my mind from RP to TURP followed by radiation.
My urologist mentioned a couple of other items. I am to wait 3 months after the TURP and to ask the surgeon to not be aggressive with the TURP and something about using a green light laser. (I'll ask Dr Decastro the surgeon who will do the TURP about that)
I am blessed to have this forum and know that most here seemed to think the RP was the better choice, even my wife wants to "just get it out" however, I have to live with my choices and I just have too much fear of major surgery.
Afib, sleep apnea, overweight, diabetes, chronic pain, failed back surgery syndrome and emotional issues such as claustrophobia weight into this decision.
I speak next Wednesday to Dr Deutsch the radiological oncologist and will review my choice then or before then I'll schedule with Dr Decastro for the TURP Had my first Covid Moderna shot Monday the first of March and get the second March 30th so the TURP has to wait until maybe second week of April.

Before being dx. with PC, I had horrible BPH. Well, Flomax worked well for 10 yrs., until it didn't. I researched it then, and had decided on Greenlight. This was mid-2009. In Dec. I got dx. with PC and the BPH helped influence me to choose surgery. Solved my BPH issue!

Thank you halbert that's good to know.
I only want the TURP to hold for the duration of the radiation treatment.
My current flow is adequate. It's a little weak and the stream often splits but I am sleeping through the night and maybe get up once to urinate but some nights I can sleep the whole night.
So I do not care if it returns as it is today. I can live with it.
Just do not want retention during radiation.
I know I'm doing an about face over having surgery but this was the first time a doctor said he is confident that TURP
will work for the radiation treatment. Like I said he strongly suggested it before

Saw Dr Deutsch today. He agreed with the plan for Greenlight laser treatment followed by radiation. He suggested 8 weeks of recovery before radiation therapy to begin again. He said he has to run numbers or some such to adjust the treatment time because I had 6 sessions already.
Next step is to see if Dr Decastro practices the Greenlight laser treatment. If not I may go to Dr Rahman in Poughkeepsie but I'd rather do it in the city so my wife can come get me.

No I got the Pca around late 2018
Stayed on AS but biopsy number 2 showed increased volume and one of the 8 core,s was upgraded to G7
All others remain G6
I got urine retention during radiation treatment this year and stopped the radiation treatment
Now after laser I plan to return to the radiation.
The catheter caused paraphimosis which hurt horribly and did not want to risk radiation but my urologist believes the Greenlight laser treatment will prevent retention
