JNF and all, Thank you for taking an interest in my situation. I've copy/pasted the prostate size information from the MRI report below. As far as I can remember, the reason I was given for brachytherapy being contrindicated in my case is that the seed implanting in a prostrate as large as mine would be uber-invasive in order to insure adequate/effective coverage... plus possibility of additional negative side effects. This seems to be consistent with information on LDR VS HDR brachytherapy on this excellent, easy to understand and visualize website:

I don't recall mentioning (or even being aware of
"20 radiation fractions". Could that have been another poster?
I got my initial ADT injection (Eligard) on May 26. I get a simulation prep for the EBRT on June 8 and will start the actual RT two weeks later, which would be around the 22nd of May, so almost a full month after starting ADT. I'm good with all of this but remain a little surprised that such a benign MRI report could co-exist with such a conclusive cancer-throughout-the-prostate biopsy report. If MRIs are that unreliable, what's the point in having them. Perhaps I should at least take comfort in the fact that there apparently was no cancer large enough for the (half-blind
MRI to see. I understand the newer PSMA-PET scan is far more precise but not sure it is available here in C0lorado or that it would change the treatment plan significantly if it were. So...onward.
