The only reason I became a mod was the opportunity to edit, delete and lock my friend Mel. Then he went and grew up and became all respectable-like. So disappointing!

I still worry about Buddy Blank. With him gone, I'm the only one(to my dismay) who consistently gets threads closed. Seems to me he just suddenly, and for no apparent reason, disappeared from this site. Though he was most often the bane of my existence(as I was his as I am for several others, sadly), and I don't miss the confrontation, still I do actually worry about him.

Like I said, he was the bane of my existence, so I'm fine if he is not responding in an aggressive way to my posts, and getting my threads closed even more than they already were. But, I wouldn't want anything to happen to him, and his SUDDEN disappearance makes me wonder.

What is Bi-Disorder? Bipolar? How would the mods know if someone was Bipolar and ban them for that?

Yes, I remember. I think some of you guys thought we might be the same person, just a couple of trolls saying stuff to supposedly attack each other as well as make everyone else mad. But believe me, we be dif folks. Almost exact opposites in most view points. He even used to ( once or twice) used to harass me by my e-mail address telling how my stupid BS ( which plenty of guys here would probably agree with him) would simply not be tolerated.

Jim I laughed at your comment then thought Hmmm maybe he's serious then laughed again.
I do write albeit rarely on chronic pain. I am doing well on a certain medication for pain and hope that it may work for them.

I was searching the web for "safe" opioid medications and came upon an inpatient trial investigating a medication that was used for opioid detox but was actually made as a pain medication when it came out in the 80's.
I was amazed how well it worked. The two main points are that it kills pain and does not make one feel drugged up.
Secondly, it's tolerance build up is way slower
With regular opioid medications I'd need double the dose within months.

Ah yes, Logos has cited a blast-from-the past TV commercial, hosted decades ago by product pitchman John Cameron Swayze, for Timex watches.

Easily one of the most bizarre TV commercial formats ever.

The deal was that to prove how sturdy the watch was, a TV crew would take an ordinary old Timex brand wrist watch, one anyone could buy presumably,and basically nuke the thing, swirling it around in washing machines, tying it to boat outboard motors and then running the motors at full speed whirling the watch around under water, or, as in the case of the commercial below, fastening the watch to the bottom of a speedboat, which then goes zoom-zoom fast over the water, repeatedly slamming the watch into the waves.

Then at the end of the commercial, they would retrieve the watch, put a camera close-up on it, and, by golly, it was still running.

It took a licking and it kept on ticking.

If there's a TV commercial hall of fame somewhere, that ad definitely has to be in it.

BTW,,,the statement made about the checkmate...to be fair...has a half life of moderate determination,,,but like all half life's it lasts for ever so it's truth is indeterminate...so let it be written so let it be done

John Cameron Swayze was the first person to be what was to become a tv anchor man as we know it,,,it was NOT Walter Chronkite,,,he was busy doing "You are There"...google ( if you...sigh...,must)...Swayze's Came News Caravan was 15 minutes long and was later extended to 30...He was replaced by Huntly and Brinkley..."and so it goes" the sign off that Linda Ellerbe used on her news show...later on...And that's the rest of the story...Good D-ay
