Discussion on the forum here of MLB teams and their fortunes during the season has been an enjoyable leisure activity for a while now (like on the "No subject (Part 5)" thread).
But I recently learned something about
MLB that merits our considerable gratitude toward the organization, and for more than just providing us with baseball entertainment.
While perusing the official MLB website the other night, just to see what was going on in pro baseball right now,
https://www.mlb.com/my eye caught a link on the homepage which intrigued me. it was "Stand Up To Cancer." (Go to the MLB homepage, then scroll down until you see the link on right).
I clicked on it, and that took me to a subpage which informs that
"Major League Baseball and its 30 Clubs have donated more than $50 million to SU2C since the partnership was first formed in 2009. As a founding donor, MLB has conducted significant awareness-building efforts through public service announcements, in-stadium promotions and various fundraising events."In addition to this message, the page also presents a brief automated slideshow on some specific steps MLB has taken in cancer activities.
And, a bit further down on that page, by all means watch the four short videos of stadium announcements of MLB's work in this area. Some moving statements!
And MLB has also been there in providing PCa awareness games as well. An example:

Thank you, MLB!
