So just Casodex for your ADT? Anecdotally, it seems like guys here have reported fewer ADT side effects with just Casodex, compared to when it was combined with Lupron.

Good luck to you--chances are you'll skate through the five weeks (although it's a bit of a slog). Keep us posted!

Good day to you all. I started with Bicalutamide 150mg daily after radiation of the breast and continues with it. I will take it for 18 months (1 ½ years). This week I started with Salvage radiation on the prostate bed and the pelvis and will end on 22nd October (25 doses).

This morning I realized I had dropped in weight – from 84kg – 81.7kg (2.3kg). I was not told I will lose in weight. For the Bicalutamide, I was told I could gain weight. Even though I have lost appetite I still consume the same amount and type of food as before just to keep body and soul.
Any thoughts on this? Just called the radiation therapy centre and they asked me to meet the specialist on Monday after my radiation appointment.

My boyfriend just finished SRT without hormone therapy. We pulled the trigger at .13. We are 9 years out from surgery. They said don't bother with scans. It won't show anything. His first psa 1 month after completing was .04. Doc advised an anti-inflammatory diet. He followed. He had no issues other than fatigue and some urgency. All back to normal now. Good luck!

OleJ, is losing weight an issue for you? 🙂 I've lost over 20 lbs while on ADT and I'm quite happy about it. The RT is a bit of a marathon, but you'll get through it.

I am not really scared of the weight lost but I read an article which said that for effective treat, one should try to maintain weight, I want to get the best from the radiation therapy. My wife likes the weight loss but I preferred maintaining wait for the next 4 weeks of radiation.

Good day to you all. I am exctly two months post radiation therapy (25 doses) and 3 months with Bicalutamide 150mg daily. A week ago I had some lab tests including my PSA. I was told it was <0.1 (less than 0.1). This was with my GP and he said it was not detectable. I was expecting it to be 0.0. My PSA was 0.2 at the time of radiation I am to meet the oncologist in January. They were to schedule a lab test in January.

I have lost weight but I like my shape now. I train at the gym 3 days a week. I feel weak some day but I am told it is beacuse of the drug

Good to hear from you again. Glad you're done with radiation. All is looking good. PSA is never reported as zero, but "undetectable" is the practical equivalent. You are always looking for the "<" sign, which you have. Keep in mind that you won't know if the treatment worked until you are done with bicalutamide (ADT). The ADT will help to kill weakened PCa cells while you stay on it. But, one step at a time. You're part way done and you're undetectable. I encourage you to be patient, hopefull, and keep working out.

No scans... doc said would not show anything. Likely in prostate bed... and so far it looks like that was the case for us .2 is the upper limit as others have mentioned. My boyfriend was diagnosed in 2012. RP in 2012. 3+4. no adverse pathology. Fast forward to 2019 when he became detectable... slow creep to .13 in 2021. We pulled the trigger on RT without ADT at .13. Finished 8/13. PSA went down afterward finishing RT and last PSA draw in early Dec was back to undetectable.... <.01. Good luck! Don't wait. Hit it hard early.
