So..
On one of my other posts, someone mentioned they had back pain due to PCa.

I have back pain now.

Is there a difference in the character of back pain caused by deteriorating disks vs PCa?

I have a double neck fusion caused by my skiing adventures as a young man.
When you get collapsing disks, you notice that the pain travels in nerve pathways.

What i am feeling seems to be traveling mostly in the standard nerve pathways. In my case mostly down the right leg.

I have been told, when i have had medical imaging, in the past, that my lower back is deteriorating.

Also, wearing a back support belt makes it significantly better.

groundhogy, I have never experienced back pain due to PC personally. However, back pain from PCa generally appears when the cancer is very, very advanced and metastatic. It is deep bone pain, centered in the bone. In all seriousness, if it moves into the spine to where there is this kind of pain....well, get your will written.

I guess what I'm saying is--you don't have this problem. Not at your gleason score, and not at your diagnostic stage.

groundhogy, I have had 3 back surgeries on the lower back. The pain I got all three times was down the outside leg. The Sciatic nerve runs down there. When a nerve gets compressed coming out of the vertebrae the pain travels down the outside of the leg on the side of the compression. I also had lower back pain above the right and left hip. Degeneration of the vertebrae happens to all as we age, but most of the time it doesn’t result in constant pain. I doubt you have cancer of the spine, but I am not a doctor. Good luck with your biopsy.

It may have something to do with my six year old girl who wants to “play”.

Wanting me to throw her into the air and into the pool (currently in AZ, pool still open) repeatedly. Shes pushing 55 lb.

I know I shouldn’t comply, but when they look at you with those eyes...

I raised 3 daughters. I get it. Sounds like you're got the aches and pains of not being 18 anymore.

I've had back pain for a good part of my adult life. One episode of sciatica about 3 years ago which lasted a full 2 months. Pure agony. I never want to go through that again. I refused the steroids and worked through it. I had it diagnosed to make sure it wasn't something more serious. Years of athletic competition and general wear and tear is the cause. Lots of arthritis and disc problems. Genetics didn't help either. Dad had some major problems with his back. It's probably the most common ailment in us old codgers.

My antidote now is exercise, to include swimming, weights and aerobic machines 3-4 times a week. But mostly stretching - which I have never done much in past years. After a workout my back feels like new - but tends to stiffen up especially when I do yard work or twist and turn in ways that are not routine. When that happens a 15-20 minute stretching seems to do the trick for me. Everyone is different. My heart goes out to those who have to go under the knife to get relief.

I have to say the guy that did my neck fusion was the real deal. Dr Sefter. Was in Baltimore, heard he moved to Tennessee.

While you are worrying about prostate cancer every ache and pain is magnified as "possible cancer". My shoulder, back, knee, everything hurts some times. Oh yeah, I'm not young anymore. I admit it.

Yes, i understand that very well.
When you are on watch, you notice every tiny twinge. You evaluate said twinge.
In normal times you ignore all kinds of pains
