PSA result after Adjuvant radiation

My PSA was .12 prior to the start of radiation. I had 8 weeks of IGRT/IMRT radiation that ended in late August. First post radiation PSA in September remained the same. Today I received the result of latest PSA test and it is .13, I don't know what to think of this but I was expecting a decrease. Is this result normal?

Yeah, I'm not sure Ed. Your PSA has stayed essentially the same before, during and after SRT. I checked your PSAs since 2018 when it became detectable again. During that period it was pretty erratic. I'm not sure I want to say your persistent, but stable, PSA is a good thing, but maybe it's not a bad thing, either?

Ed, what is your RO saying about this. Doesn't seem like a result you wanted 4 months after treatment

Sorry that your PSA is not lower.

I'm curious as to whether you were on any kind of hormone treatment.

I was not on any ADT medication. I'm meeting with my oncologist on 12/27 to discuss the latest PSA results. I'll post what he has to say. Thanks for your responses.

I will be interested to see the oncologist's view. Heck, you may be good to go for the next 10 or 20 years.

Ed, Sorry you are not getting the result you expected. While radiation can work over 18 months, I believe you should have seen some decrease.. Post surgery radiation without imaging is shot in the dark with the hope the cancer isn’t outside the radiation field.

Duck2, I agree, it is a shot in the dark since imaging would have been useless at such low PSA (.12). My PSA has been really erratic for few years. Here it is:
2/2015 <.01
2/2016 .01
2/2018 .03
2/2019 .009 ??
2/2020 .042
4/2021 .12 (before radiation)
9/2021 .13 (4 months after radiation)
I used the doubling calculator using the 2/2016, 2/2018, 2/2020 and the 42021 results and it shows my doubling time to be 19.1

I had a PSA test 4 months after the completion of radiation. the result was not encouraging. It was 0.13 which is higher than was it was prior to radiation (0.12) and 1 month after radiation (.12 also). My oncologist wants to wait another 3 months and test again to see what the PSAADT is before deciding on ADT. I'm concerned about the possibility of SCPC.
