hello, good people. on feb. 28th, 2019, i was diagnosed wit' GS 4+3 = 7 PCa. as a form of treatment, on jan. 9th and 23rd, 2020, i had HDR brachytherapy and finished up six months of 50mg. bicalutamide. my PSA at diagnosis was 11.9. thanks to COVID-19 i had to wait a year before i was able to have my first PSA blood draw. my first PSA in jan. of 2020, was 4.04. six weeks later, it went down to 1.51. then, three months later, it was 1.52. this past september, my most recent PSA was 0.55. on the 25th of this month, i go to have my next PSA.

over the last couple of weeks, i've noticed my urinary streams in the morning are getting a little weak. i haven't had a weak stream since late 2020, when i was still in the healing process. fellas? i'm starting to get concerned about my PSA. back in 2014, i was diagnosed with BPH and asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis. so, i was thinking maybe that could be a cause for the streams being weak at times. either way, i'm concern'd that the weak streams may have a negative impact on my next PSA. what R your thoughts on this matter?

You do have a nice downward trend on your PSA, and hopefully that will continue on the 25th. That might answer your question after you get that PSA number back. Here is to a continued low psa, and keep us posted.

my stream is weak at night when i get up to pee. i attribute it to old age smile

I don't think there's a connection between a weak stream and PSA, particularly if you had BPH prior to treatment. I also had HDR brachy and my stream has been weaker ever since. In my case it's not too bad, and I take a Rapaflo every few days and that does the trick. Are you on any sort of medication for this? (Flomax seems to be the most common.)

BTW, during all this time, my PSA has been low and steady.

I agree that there is no correlation between 'weak stream' and PSA.
More importantly, and as others have already stated, your PSA profile is encouraging. I hope that your next test will confirm this.

I also hope that you are aware of certain activities that one should not do prior to a PSA test.

thank you, michael for your response. i was on flomax only after i was treated. i stopped taking it 'round september 2020, and have been doing jus' fine ever since. i called the nurse practitioner and hopefully she'll respond pretty soon. i was thinking of taking a pill of flomax here and there, but i didn't want to deal with the dizziness nor the stuffy nose issues. we'll C.
