It was a cheap shot period. Comedians make fun of people. That is what they do. However, making fun of someone’s sickness most certainly steps over the line. It could have been handled after the program was over. If that was done on the street, it would be plain and clear assault regardless of what was said. I agree that it took away from the accomplishments of those who were there to accept their awards. Also, it was a very bad example for the children that may have been watching. He could have done it verbally and it would have been just as effective and bleeped out. If it is allowed to continue then the whole cast at SNL could end up in the hospital. He knew it was wrong or he wouldn’t have apologized.
