Well I just "celebrated" my 2 year anniversary of CyberKnife completion. PSA back down to 1.3 from 11.1. Down to only one bathroom call in the middle of the night. But one thing that hasn't improved is my need for a donut pillow in my car, at home, at church, etc. Just have a real tender perineum. I wonder if this could be tissue damage from radiation, or nerve damage from SpaceOar procedure.

I too have this problem.
It's five months post SBRT and just last week it began to hurt.
Not very painful but. Very uncomfortable.
I'm having a CT scan and may have a cysto.
I guess it's normal but not sure.

I don't think that's 'normal', but I can't offer a solution other than to discuss the issue with your rad oncologist.
I hope the problem will be temporary.

Just thinking aloud, reaching out to you ...

I like the idea --- shared above --- about consulting with your radiologist.

From there, it might be a consideration to consult with a DERMATOLOGIST, as well --- with their expertise in sensitive skin issues.

They may have skin ointments and medicated creams that can being relief and healing.

Manich, I am 6 months post IMRT having had markers and Space Oar. The first couple of weeks I was sore after the placements, but nothing since. Just curious if this has happened to others with IMRT Vs CyberKnife or SBRT. It would be good to know if the high intensity short frequency has more SEs than IMRT. Good input to get with RO and ask questions. Also, just curious why you are still having a bathroom break at night? After my treatment that stopped except when I drank too much before going to bed. I still have some urgency during the day, but that has diminished quickly. Nerve damage is high on the list from the placement procedure, but that was a long time ago. Might be an infection. I hope the pain was not caused by the CyberKnife treatment. My best to you,
