I started Proton Beam RT on March 14th and completed #44 on May14th. Got my first Eligard injection (6-month) with the 1st RT and took Casodex for 30 days. Started Zytiga (1000 mg) a few days after completing RT (about 3 weeks now).

Received my first labs today. Three weeks since completing RT. Testosterone is “5”. PSA is “0.02” or undetectable.

My recollection is that the Doc didn’t expect that until 3-6 months following RT. He’s very pleased and I’m tickled s#!+less. One negative is my BUN is elevated but hoping that’s just from lack of being hydrated. My next appt with RO is in 5 weeks and we’ll run the tests again. “Only” 22 MONTHS of ADT to go! 😳

The ADT takes your T and then PSA down very quickly, within a few weeks. My PSA went from 59 to undetectable in less than 90 days, so you demonstrate a normal response and a good one at that. As a G9 Are you doing 6 or 12 months of ADT? Suggest you not skimp due to the high risk situation.

JNF— TWO YEARS of ADT is the plan. (I had stated 22 weeks to go in error. It’s nearly 22 months yet to go.)

1st, undetectable is always a reason to celebrate, no matter what the reason.
