Latest Status Update

Started journey with RARP on 08/08/17 with pT3b findings due to EPE and SVI with G 7 (4-3) and tertiary 5 ; therefore, high risk. Decided against ART at that time due to undetectable PSA from initial testing, using uPSA with thought to initiate immediate follow up treatment, if/when, BCR occurred. One year out it was noted, initiated monthly testing, confirmed status, had RO agreement to treat at low level of 0.03 and commenced SRT with 6 months ADT. My decision for ADT and I chose a full 6 months of Firmagon. Ended this treatment in 05/19 with last injection and in 06/19 first post treatment reading was undetectable.

Last doctor appointment (Jan) I was moved to 6 month testing with annual doctor visits as my PSA had remained undetectable. His comment, as noted by another poster, was after treatment if PSA remained undetectable for 2, and even better 3 years, it was considered excellent. At this date, I am 3 years out and just had latest uPSA results posted to MyChart. Test results: < 0.006

Rather long and repetitive comment just wanted to share a little of my journey. My heartfelt blessings to all brothers and sisters on this bumpy road. V/R
