Non-obtructive Kidney stone contributed to high PSA?

Good day to all good people!

Newbie here! I went in for annual blood works, My PD alert me of my PSA level from 07/2021 : 5.23 and this year 07/2022: 6.47 and blood found in my urine (invisible one). So PD sent me to the URO.

The URO first order the Rectal Ultrasound found i have 1.3 cm kidney stone
DRE was smooth and no bump

Slightly enlarge prostate

Order another PSA test in 08/2022 : 8.9

Cystoscopy was orderred : all good nothing found.

Now i am await for November 7 for prostate biopsy.

I am extremely worried about the prostate cancer. My question is from within 1 month PSA increase from 6.47 to 8.9 is it indicated aggressive prostate cancer?. Any one have similar like me? my kidney stone at lower poles and the size was quite big URO said that the stone won't go anywhere. Can it be the suspect of PSA raising?

The article linked below addresses the question you raise, whether kidney stones can affect a PSA number.

"Can kidney stones affect your PSA count? No. Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by cells in the prostate gland. A PSA test is performed through a simple blood draw and shows the PSA level in a man’s blood stream. Men who have prostate cancer often have an elevated PSA level. There are conditions that can result in high PSA levels that are not related to cancer. These include prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)."

(P.S. The article also talks about "prostate stones," which I had never heard of:

Typically, prostate stones do not cause any problems or symptoms. However, if prostate stones become infected, it can lead to urinary tract infections or prostatitis.")

There are a number of things that can cause an elevated PSA number other than prostate cancer. Searching

elevated psa causes other than cancer

will retrieve articles that will discuss some of them.

And others here may post to offer suggestions from their own experiences for how to deal with the uncertainty and anxiety that your current situation is probably producing. Most of us have been there.

But do remember, much of the time an elevated PSA number does indeed turn out to be something other than prostate cancer.

For a kidney stone to cause the bladder to retain fluid you would have to have significant obstruction not associated with kidney stones.

My psa rose from 5 to 7 after a kidney stone episode. Unfortunately, it rose again the next year and this time did not went down until the prostate was removed. Take it just as another personal story, not as a general rule.

I think i will prepare to except the fact of the rise of PSA is a PCa, this will help not to being shocked while i am await the biopsy and the results afterward. I've been reading a lot of people's PCa journeys on this forum and had learned and gain a lot of info for a newbie like i am.

I will post my biopsy results once i have it, but anyone gotten into situation similar like me, please chime in that will definitely help me and other newbie who's desperately seeking for info.
