Well, after 15 days in Memorial Herman....and 30 plus days in rehab......there is a light at the end of the tunnel. My husband is coming home sometime next week. He will get in a few more therapy sessions to get more confidence. He can now walk with a walker anywhere....go in and out of bathroom....stand and take care of things at the sink. His legs are still weak and he still gets tired more quickly...BUT all is so much better than it was 6 weeks when he could not even stand up or turn in the bed. We have three steps up to our porch and he really wants to walk up those steps by himself...hence the extra therapy sessions. He is so determined that after his scheduled therapy time...he has been rolling the wheelchair to the rehab room and asking someone....anyone...to help him practice the "steps"...so he can get better and more confident on stairs. It has been long and stressful...but we are going to be okay. Thanks to all of you who followed this and supported us.

It is wonderful to hear that news, and good on him for asking for assistance in getting stronger. Hope to hear from you all again, with even better news.

It's been a long road back, but I am so very thankful that "Home Sweet Home" is is your near future!

It's taken time, sheer grit, determination, and a steely iron will ~ but the progress is inspiring and soul-stirring.

Well, he finally got to come home yesterday. He DID walk up those 3 steps onto our front porch. He is still using a walker...but does most everything else by himself....just at a slower pace. It has been a very long and stressful 7 weeks. Thanks so much to those therapy guys who got him up and going this far. And thanks to those of you who supported him. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you for the update and glad to hear that he is now at home. That extra work on physical therapy has paid off for him. Get some rest and update in the future if you are able.
