Hubby on Eligard, just had Xtandi added as well. Wondering how long to expect PSA to drop. Thx!

I got my PSA drop (from 1.1 on Eligard to 0.1) at the first blood test 1 month after I added Xtandi. Be aware of the possible side effects and watch for them as they can be severe.

EDIT: If Xtandi is effective for a patient and the side effects are tolerable it will likely continue to be effective unless the cancer evolves out of the need for androgens. That becomes very much less likely with a constant presence of an androgen agonist like Xtandi. While these chemical treatments can't kill the cancer outright, they are meant to stop the cancer cells from growing, moving around or multiplying.

I remember when XTANDI and ZYTIGA were the new gamechanger medications ...

I was the first fellow at my treatment center to go on ZYTIGA ... and my doctor was quietly excited.

I realize your question is about XTANDI, but my PSA lowered with ZYTIGA within the first month.

My doctor had me visit the lab often, to keep tabs on its efficacy.

I'm sure your doctor will be keeping close tabs on XTANDI's impact, in your case!

January of last year my PSA was 1.23.
I started Xtandi late February.
My March PSA was 0.18, and by September I was undetectable.
And I have been undetectable ever since.
I'm doing well enough my Onco has just cut my Xtandi dosage in half.
