Well, I just had Pluvicto Round 2, Treatment #1 this morning. That's technically Pluvito/LU-177 treatment #7 for me. While it'll be awhile until I see a new PSA test, I can tell you that the administration of the Pluvicto drug has come A LONG WAY in the past 18 months (and since FDA approved). What was once a 2 1/2-hour process (at UCLA) from late 2021 to 2022, I had a 9 AM appointment at Hoag in Irvine, and was out the door by 9:30!
Those of you who read my post "LU-177 My Next Treatment" may recall the process being one of an IV system which saw saline dripped into the LU-177 canister, then out of the canister to my arm. That took about 30-40 minutes of actual infusion time, but with another 40 minutes before and after for fluids, preparation, etc. Now, a metal case 15" x 7 x 7" has a single IV tube going into my arm. It takes about 12 minutes. Then they flush the tube to assure all the Pluvicto gets into you, then they remove the IV. You wait 10 minutes, get discharge instruction, and you are out the door.
It's been 4 1/2 hours since my treatment and I feel nothing. Not even tired (yet). Took my laxatives (from the previous LU-177 lessons learned), and I'm in my home office ready for a Zoom meeting. It is unbelievable. Now, may it go after all the PC mets! Will keep you posted, brothers & sisters. Thanks - Steve
