Stricture

Going on two years post SBRT and PSA is dropping.
March 17th had a dilation of a urinary stricture and it's been good since then. Well until a couple of days ago.
Had very dark urine and blood in my urine.
It's been off and on but I am worried.
I'm hoping that the stricture is small enough for Optilume if it returns

I'm still voiding without blood.
Dr office moved me up to September 12th
I'll cancel if I'm still good maybe a week before the date.
Doctor Joice wanted to see me in about eight months at the last visit in April so I will make appointment end of Fall if I remain free of bleeding.
Please understand that the stricture is very worrisome because it's got the potential of blocking the flow 100% hence my concern when I get symptoms.
I've had retention once and it is a horrible thing to go through.

Still good.
I'm thinking it was what I guessed and that's dehydration that led to hematuria.
What bothers me is the "What ifs"
Because I had the nightmare of urinary retention, I greatly fear it happening again
If it were a case of just getting a catheter at the ER I'd be less worried but just jabbing a tube up there can make it much worse.
So forgive my writing here and understand it helps me by putting a voice on my thoughts.

Glen, no worries about straying into non-PCa topics. That is certainly fine. We are a family here. Glad to hear some things are going well. Re the knee, my wife has had two replacements and was back playing tennis within a few months after each of them. I think there are two keys: (a) get a doc that is interested in making sure you remain an active senior after the operation. Not just someone who is satisfied that you can walk afterwards and (b) rehab the hell out of the knee. I've seen too many lazy rehabs here in SW Florida and the results are not pretty. Re the implants, you might ask if a bridge is an alternative. It's a lot less hassle and a lot less money.

Hope your wife is doing ok with the memory issues and it doesn't get worse.

Blood has stopped for a couple of days thank goodness.

Each time I void, if it's clear, I say thank you to God.
I understand that treatment may be in my future be it Optilume (I hope) or full surgery but of course hope the dialation.

Try living in Buffalo, disappointment year after year. This could be our year !
Putting your thoughts to paper is good and what helps you is the most important thing right now.
You never know how your words might be helping others too.

Had to respond to this one! I've been a Buffalo fan since I moved to Western NY in 1969. Still one while now living in Florida. Oh the pain....I was living overseas during our FOUR trips to the Super Bowl...listening or watching the games in the middle of the night only to hear, "wide right" and other losing commentary. On a trivia note, I ran into Scott Norwood at a "Bills Bar" in Northern Virginia a few years back. Despite missing the kick, he is still loved by real Bills fans...

Hey I'm for the Bills because after all they are really the only New York team.
If they play the Jets then I'm not going to root for them but otherwise go Bill's.
Flow is still good. Still have discomfort but not sure that will ever go away.

I'd add that Norwood cost me a few bucks.
Yes I rooted for Buffalo over the Giants that year.
Still doing well.
Little worried about my elbow replacement surgery because it's creaking and still painful.
I'll live with some pain but hopefully the humeral stem stays in place.

Thanks pratoman I am glad I'm not alone.
I went to games at Shea they were SRO and therefore a long day watching.
I rooted for Joe Willie but was more a Giants fan.
Well in the late 70's after going to Hosfra with a friend to watch the jets practice, I became a fan.
I met my friend a couple of weeks ago and reminded him of the agony he's caused.
He's in Florida now but still a fan.

He's done. But, he was a Jet for 4 snaps. I wonder who's on the hook for that huge contract. Will Rodgers still get most of the money? Maybe there's an insurance coverage.

Jet's lost. I'm not sure if I can take another losing season. My dilation is holding up thus far and eventually I'll just accept it as healed.
Okay it might come back but I'm assuming it'll be gradually.
Elbow replacement surgery still hurts but slightly better than last week.
