So an update on my dads status. It’s been a slow process. The medical system in Canada just runs different. My dads PSA began going up this past November. He was undetectable for nine years prior. By March 2023 he was up to a PSA of 2. They ordered a pet scan I believe which he finally got in June. Cancer spread to lymph nodes and showed Mets to spine and shoulder. A subsequent bone scan showed no bone damage yet. He has since received two injections of flutamide. One in July and one in august. Now that his T levels are gone, he can start zytiga. Still waiting on the approval to get the drug. Again, Canadian health care rules I guess. This past Saturday he began getting severe back pain. So much he can’t get up on his own. Monday, they prescribed an opioid for the pain. I guess I’m trying to figure out the pain. It showed very small none Mets. Could that cause that severe and sudden pain? He also got a bladder infection and is severe constipation. I’m not sure what the zytiga is going to do at this point if anything. I have hope but so torn. It unbelievable how he’s changed since Saturday. I want it to improve but I don’t see how. Anyone been there or know someone who has?
