Just had Xray of my right hip that has been bothering me. This has been a problem for years since I had surgery many many years ago... In the past my ct or xray showed prior surgery and Bursitis. But this time the doctor said.........
There is a sclerotic area projecting over the left iliac wing, concerning for a sclerotic bone lesion. This appears new
relative to a CT of the abdomen and pelvis dated 6/28/2023. This could reflect a metastatic bone lesion. Recommend correlation with PSA and dedicated pelvic CT without IV contrast.
My PSA is undetectable.

It always sucks when a scan picks up an incidental item that requires more investigation. A CT is the way to go and hopefully will clear up the anomaly. Don't be worried until the scans are complete and someone actually tells you have something to worry about
. Easier said than done, I know.

I'd take a Casey Stengel like approach. Or Sparky Anderson if you will. It ain't nothin until it's somethin.

Steve, reading a report like that is never fun, I get it. As mumbo said, more detailed scanning will probably be needed. One test leads to another its almost always a black hole.
And also as Mumbo said, we know it aint easy, but try not to stress too much until you get some more answers that are more specific than "suspicious for'

its like taking your car to Firestone or Good Year for an oil change. Sure you get your oil changed but once they have you on the lift……sometimes you wonder how your car made it there at all! Until you take your car to a trusted mechanic.
The images are so grainy. Very subjective. Its not like they gave the image to 100 people and 98 saw something.
It is one guy.
True story: During a recent visit to one of my dr’s, they thought they felt a bump in my thyroid. Ultrasound cleared it (nothing there).
Another true story: One of my recent scans for PCa picked up an incidental “something” on my left kidney. That resulted in a partial nephrectomy and yes it was a low grade kidney cancer.
Good luck on the definitive test!

Sounds like it was defined by someone off of an X-ray.
I’ve found that when certain doctors and/or radiologists are aware that the film they are looking at came from someone who’s had prostate cancer, it can sometimes color their interpretations.
That’s happened to me. They’ll report everything they see or think they see.

You are being proactive, so that it to be commended.
That being said, your undetectable PSA is a very positive thing, above all else.
Sending my supportive thoughts,

Great news. As I remember, Ken always buys a round of drinks when such news is declared.

Coincidence... my recent CT scan for blocked urethra showed: a 9 mm sclerotic focus along the left ischium likely represents a bone island. Multilevel degenerative changes affect the spine.
I don't recall any previous discussions about
this...psa still <.008
Urologist to remove catheter 12/19. I guess he'll let me know of any concerns.
