This is one of those questions that I know the answer to but just have to ask. 

I had my biopsy last month and was recently given an enema kit to use when I go in for the MRI.  As I was looking it over, there was a paragraph how it would be used BEFORE the biopsy.  I did not have one prior to my biopsy and since my system was not clean out before the test, could it have contanimated the results?

Figure not but am still struggling with the diagnosis and dealing with this happening to me.  I know a silly question.

Lack of an enema before the biopsy would not affect the results of your biopsy it might make the plowing a little harder for the doctor to get in there as easy. Is the enema kit just a fleet enema or are you taking one of those kind like you do before a colonscopy? Why are they doing and MRI? I didn't get an MRI just the bone scan and CT. Only had the enema prior to the biopsy. Your numbers are real similar to mine. It is now three weeks since my surgery and every day is better and better.

Surgeon said he wants an MRI to get a better view of the prostrate and area around it so he know what to expect when Dec 13th arrives.

There are …No silly questions on this forum. There are areas of concern that some us have and some don’t have….. Then there are other areas that some have concerns about and the others don’t…



So ~ if something comes into your mind………… Question away my friend. yeah

Knowledge is Power, Knowledge/Power takes away the fear.



Remember……………….. We all travel the same path with stepping-stones in front of us… We don’t all step on the same ones….. and that’s okay. That’s where we have options!!! And this is a good thing.



That bus that hit you seems really big right now….. WE know!!!! But I will tell you in a little while…. You’ll realize it’s only a mini bus and you will get up from the hit…



The enema may be a doctor preference ~ you might call and ask him… this may ease your mind… …. I don’t see where it would change results… and having an MRI, CAT & Bone Scan is doctor preference. I asked about these test at our consultation and our urologist said they were not necessary for Buddy. He did say that he had just sent a younger man for these test but from our scores… he felt they were not necessary.

The urologist I saw for my biopsy just told me that the fleet enema made it a bit easier for him during the biopsy.

Hi Mac & donna, had 3 biopsies myself over approx 18 months 12 the 1st 16 the 2nd and another 12 the last time only just found something suspicious on the last 1, diagnosed 3+3 gleason, was absolutley gutted, but keep your head up mate im sure we can beat this thing. Good luck
