Hello Everyone...

I'm looking for backfeed from anyone who has received chemo to treat prostate cancer, especially in the late stage.

I'm not sure if I want this kind of treatment, somewhat confused.

On that eweb site under "Mentor Experiences" are stories of men that have had different type of treatments including chemo.

Thank you for your help. The "Mentor Experiences" section was very helpfull.
I was diagnosed in 1993 with prostate cancer when I was 74 years old, the cancer had already broken thru the prostate. Don't know how long I had it before being diagnosed. My PSA is 178, I feel pretty good... no pain. One of my doctors is talking chemo, I will be seeing them soon to discuss other treatments.

MJCB - Welcome to the group! I for one, hope you stay with us and keep us up to date with your treatment plan. You will be full of valuable advice for some of the posts I've read lately asking for people who first were diagnosed several years ago.

I’m sending a special…warm welcome to you and I’m glad you joined us. If I read this right you are 87. When did your PSA start going up?? Have you had further testing to determine if cancer has spread to the bones, lymph nodes, or other areas? When is your appointment with your specialist? What is your support at home? Which state do you live in?



I think the most important thing you’ve stated is.. “You are feeling pretty good with no pain”. It’s time to make more decisions on keeping you in this place. Feeling good with no pain.



Finding out exactly what your options are ~ is so important ...no matter what age you are!!! Quality of life whether it is 5 months or 5 years has always been our goal and will always remain at the top.



MJCB… You specifically asked for feedback from those who have traveled this path using chemo as a treatment and those who are in the later stages. The websites that you have been given in previous posts will definitely give you guidance.



We hope to hear from you soon ~ as to the questions above ~ they help us to understand which stepping-stone you are on in your journey. You have obviously had a long journey and I’m thankful you have chosen to share it with us. Sharing your journey will be a gift to all of us…. and I would like to repay this gift with a HUG.
