Thought I was coming along nicely, but have a couple of questions.

Incisions - Having had daVinci, my 4 small ones and the larger one near the navel look fine. The drain hole has not done as well. Has anyone had any problems with theirs?

Continence - Started my Kegels way before operation and picked up again post-Foley. Noticed in the middle of last night (when flow is at max) that I could not interupt and the same thing so far today. Can't say that I ever tried before and now I wonder if I've been Kegeling incorrectly. Have appointment with nurse and a biofeedback device Tuesday. That should indicate any problems.

Urination/Foley - Wore that thing for only a week, but it made me so sore it seemed like a month. I feel like it made me as sore on the inside as on the tip. The tip has healed, but strong urine flow causes a burning or pain, which I'll also discuss with surgeon Tuesday. Again, anyone else experience this?

ED - May not be a problem, as Saturday night was the first time we tried and were successfull! (Based on the above - I must've been due a break!)

Sounds pretty normal I am almost 100% on the peeing. The kegels I try to do them whenever I think about it during the day. For me it is telling myself to suck that pee up my wang like it was a straw. Or I visualize that I'm trying to drive a car back up that tube. Also walking is really good for this. I'm seeing my doc today at 11:00 for my post op visit. Glad to hear your guy stood up and saluted so far my guy stood up about 1/3 of the way but he was interested he has been having orgasms right regularly, thank God for a loving wife. I think you and me are coming along quite nicely and it will only improve. Patience is not one of my strong points. The burning will continue for a while longer, remember the little guy is really been irritated. My drain hole healed up right away but the one just to the right of my navel is not healing as fast as the others. I wonder if some of them get stitched up better than others because of the angle when they close it up is different. It sure sounds like you are doing better than the Dawgs, and I am definately doing better than my Ducks.

Hi dawgfan,

Not sure we can be of much help as we had the open procedure.  The drain hole did take a little longer to heal though and also one spot on the incision.  We just tried to keep antibiotic ointment and sterile packing on it and eventually it went away.  It's good you are going to the doctor soon to answer your questions.

Again with the continence, the different procedures I think may make a difference.  My husband's surgery was in July and he is just now really starting to get on top of it.  The biofeedback will be interesting to see what it says.  I hope you'll share that experience with us!

My husband also had a burning sensation for quite a while, off and on, after the cath was removed but it quit after awhile.  I think it just takes a while to get back in the swing of things.

Lastly, GREAT NEWS for the ED!!!!!  You're right, you deserved a break!!!!  That should have helped make up for all the rest by guzillions!!!!!

Thanks! I was a little concerned about the burning, but I'm glad to hear it's not unique to me. I'm not going to worry about the dribbling because everyone says it comes with time. I'll relay what they tell me resulting from biofeedback.

Drain hole looked like a gunshot for weeks, now looks like a crater...can't wait for his reaction to it tomorrow.

Ducks move to 7-3 with L to USC as the Dawgs go 7-4 with W against Auburn. They'll get bowl bids, since there are so many now. Yep, I'm glad we're doing better than them...

I am 12 days post Da Vinci and had my Foley removed today. I have peed a couple of times and had no burning or pain. I was able to stop the stream some but not like I could before the surgery. All of my incisions are healed. I am envious of your good luck with the ED. My penis is still sore from the Foley so I will not be in the mood to try anything for a few days. Just curious, was your erection assisted by Viagra or one of the other two? I start Viagra a week from Wednesday.

Hope you have better luck post-Foley than I. My ED appointment is not scheduled until Nov 28, so I have no drugs or toys yet. As I told my wife, it may not work next time, but at least we got one in. I have had several nighttime erections which greeted me when I woke to go to the bathroom. Based on those, I thought we'd give it a try.

it sounds like things are somewhat normal, dawgfan, except for that one hole. I'm glad you are going to the doctor soon to be sure it's just slow healing. wow, nighttime erections - now that's something to celebrate! I keep telling Jeff that when he gets one of those, to wake me up, I want to participate! :) Jeff was pretty sore from the foley, too, but that went away in a few days.
