Iggy,
Your description does not sound weird. I had my surgery on Nov 1st and I do get occasional aching around the rectum. This is especially true if I sit for a long period of time. I had to take a long driving trip this past week due to a death in the family and I could not make the who;e 12 hours at one time because my rectum would start aching. Taking Advil helped some. Since the prostate was right in front of the rectum this is where most of the internal surgical trauma is at. I do not have the aching with coughs or sneezes and I have gotten into an automatic kegel when I cough or sneeze to keep from leaking, which works for me. I kow the frustrations with trying to find the right combination to prevent leaking. Some days I have it and think that I will be out of the pads soon and then the next day I am back to leaking. I know that waling helps a lot. Due to the family death I have missed my daily walking now for almost a week and I have not progressed much. The walking does help with the aching. I believe what you are experiencing is common.
