Log Update 12-13-06
Just a status update to let everyone in my cheering section know how very much I appreciate all the prayers, thoughts and support. Sure makes walking this road a bit easier. Here's a brieft thumbnail feedback to date:
Robotic surgery Wednesday, 12-6
Catheter removed Monday, 12-11 - I'm probably the only one on this forum that had any problem with the removal. BUT, on the plus side, as soon as it was out, praise God!! I had immediate and total control of my urine flow!!! - and without kegals. Now I truly know the difference between a squirt gun and a fire hose. I can hit the john from the otherside of the room. I never knew that this is how normal was supposed to feel. As soon as "hang" was evicted, my spirits, stamina and energy levels soared. We were not the best of friends.
Pathology report Tuesday, 12-12: Report indicated that there was more cancer in the prostate than the biopsy indicated. Good news - surgeon is totally confident that it is all contained within the sheath. Lymph nodes and seminal vessels are clean. Left nerve bundle couldn't be saved due to tumor location and growth. Right side was saved. Doc says all the conditioning I did before surgery paid off big time. Says that he's only going to restrict me to no more than 15 lbs. lifting for only 2 weeks, then I can do whatever I feel like doing.
My next visit is another PSA in about 5 weeks. I'm anxious to get back into my speed walking and working out again. I'm almost up to a mile a day now and feel absolutely thankful for every day that God allows me to share the priviledge of his day.
