My bone scan has been scheduled for next Monday 11 Dec.
A second free PSA this Tuesday, Urology Thursday 14 Dec.
Physical with PCP Thursday 28 Dec.
I received a requested copy of an x-ray of my hip and pelvis. I had serve pain early last month and back in September. I had seen my neurologist at the VA last month which requested the x-rays because the tripling of my PSA along with the hip, back pain. The x-ray report reads, 1 cm sclerotic lesion within the left acetabulum. In addition there is a second sclerotic lesion in the right iliac wing. Bone scan recommend to rule out metastatic disease.
My questions are can PCa spread this fast with a PSA 2.6 and a negative biopsy?
Can anyone tell me what is a sclerotic lesion, a bone island and a MET?

Jim,
I know it's hard but try not to project. They (VA Doctors) intially told me that they were 90% sure mine had probably spread and it had not. Are you seeing a Urologist at the VA? What VA are you going to? If you had a negative biopsy you are probably in good shape. Bone Scans - Ultra Sounds are the indicators as to what if anything has spread. Most important thing is to stay positive and not worry yourself sick. It soes no good, believe me I know!!!

Bill, thanks for the reply
Rock, thanks for the advice, sometimes it’s hard to see the end of the tunnel (Boston pun) and stay positive. The week is half over and Sunday I’m going to a Christmas show with the grandkids so I’ll “forget about
it” and enjoy life. I use the Boston VA system for neurology only. The rest of my health care is thru my TriCare HMO, ST. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston and their satellite on Hansom AFB. What you posted is the reason I picked not to have total care at the VA also all the information about
infected prostate biopsies done by the VA. I did use Emerson Hospital in Concord for my biopsy.
