I am new to all of this and my questions are all the ones with the name Tinker, that is my childhood name given my my Dad to me.

Four months ago he was diagnosed with postrate cancer and my life has really changed.  His surgery 3 weeks ago went well, but the catheter being removed this week has been horrible for him.  He had not urinated for a whole day and my Mom had to rush him to the hospital.  They drained his bladder, but he waited so long and he is in soooo much pain.  He is a 72 year old proud marine and this is so hard.  He sits in his chair and watches tv all day.  The catheter they put in today is leaking where they inserted it and he now has to wear diapers.  Our doc has said nothing about how long this will be or if there is excersise.  If you have any input, please reply.

Bluebird, I think you should consider volunteering to be the moderator here. I think they are still looking for someone. you have the desire, knowledge, etc. and would be great at it. also, maybe you can email someone here so they will place this post at the top and lock it so it will stay there. just a few thoughts....kat

I 3rd it Moma Blubird! Awhile ago you suggested Swimmom to be moderator, I don't want to speak for her but I guess she has declined if she hasn't taken the posission yet. Swim, where are you? where have you been? We need your help here! I think Moma Bluebird would be the perfect moderator! Well....glad I thought of it weeks ago??????? Yes, Bluebird would be a good moderator!!! My time can be hit and miss so I may not be able to dedicate what the job requires as a moderator. Bluebird...you are so much better at this kind of stuff than I am. I'll help where I can but lady.....you're the best!


Now, why I don't feel I have what HealingWell deserves. You all really do deserve a dedicated individual::::

The community college I teach at begins this week so that's 2 evenings a week minimum. I hear I am probably the lucky duck who gets to teach a MFR class to part of Pfizer Corp. (makers of Viagra!) to boot so there goes Fridays for 4 months. Can't wait for that one! Drug manufacturer all to myself every week for 4 months. Wonder how many samples I can swing from that deal? No samples, no pass? hehehehehe...............too bad I can't do that eh?

Swim season is in full swing...or full float!! I've also been informed of a new 30 client contract in Michigan (another employer) to get CERT teams trained by summer's end. CERT teams are community emergency response teams trained to respond in the event of emergencies and disasters. Our nations corporations have really jumped on the band wagon with this project in the last 3 years. Not only is it saving lives in the work place, 911 made us really think about just how limited our emergency systems are in larger disasters. We cannot do it alone! It takes a whole community to save a community in the event of major disasters. I'm very proud of our business community for taking the time to make such a difference. There are 2.5 of us who do Michigan, northern Ohio and Indiana. We do the medical end of these teams. The 30 is in addition to what we'd normally do so we'll be in constant demand. It's exhaustive sounding but it's a good tired.

If I could, I'd dedicate my time to everything equally, including HealingWell, I would. Bluebird is so very good at this and I need to be elsewhere so if you will Blue.....consider it....please!!!!

Dear Forum Friends,   It is a pleasure for Buddy & I to contribute to the Prostate Cancer Forum.   After careful thought…we feel that taking on the duties of the moderator is something we do not wish to pursue.   Our continued contributions to the forum is our way of providing support to others who are touched by this disease and to also broaden our own knowledge base by continuing to read and absorb postings provided by our new family of friends.     Our journey with prostate cancer was placed in our path for a reason… and this special stepping-stone called “Healingwell”… is a stone that we wish to stay on for a long time…   Buddy & I have always felt that if we touched just “1” person ~ to make their journey smoother and less frightening… that would be the ultimate gift we could give.   As Jetguy once said to us…. “ That “1” person is someone special to someone else”… so in essence it’s a ripple effect.   Welcoming New Members and continuing to update the Helpful Hints page is something I enjoy doing and would like to continue ~ with input from members!!!      Thank you ~ for your kind words and thoughts expressed in your request!   In warmest of friendships ~ Lee & Buddy
